A Natural Treatment To Prevent Varicose Veins

Varicose veins are a health problem that points to poor blood circulation, but they are also a cosmetic issue that can be very noticeable and affect self-esteem.

In this article, we explain how to follow a natural and homemade treatment to avoid varicose veins and eliminate the most recent of them.

Improve blood circulation for varicose veins

The main cause of varicose veins is mainly related to the liver, as it is the organ that regulates our circulation and purifies our blood of toxins.

That is why we must always keep in mind that a complete treatment for varicose veins must start with a good diet, based on the following foods:

  • Fruits and vegetables. In particular lemon, grapefruit, artichoke or chicory.
  • Dried vegetables. Soups with cumin, kombu seaweed or fennel.
  • Whole grains. Especially rice, millet, quinoa or buckwheat.
  • Egg, preferably organic.
  • Fish.
  • White meats.
  • Dried or dried fruits, raw or grilled, but not fried or salted.
  • Seeds: raw or sprouted.
  • First cold pressed oils: sesame, olive, sunflower, flax, wheat seeds, etc.
  • Vegetable drinks of oats, rice and almonds
  • Spices like garlic or turmeric.

On the other hand, you should avoid or limit the consumption of the following foods:

  • Red meat and cold cuts
  • Milk and dairy products
  • Fried foods and ready meals
  • Alcoholic beverages

Regulate the bowel

The intestine is the other organ that directly influences the flow of our blood within the body, since it is located in the belly. The central part of our body. If it functions poorly, it creates a blockage that prevents proper circulation throughout the body.

This is why we need to treat our gut in a natural way, especially if we are constipated. So we tend to suffer from diarrhea or irritable bowel, which are the most common problems.

Infusions for circulation

We have to take care of ourselves inside and out. That is why we recommend taking daily infusions that help improve blood circulation. You can choose for example the following medicinal plants:

  • A plant to improve the functioning of the liver.  Boldo, dandelion or panicaut (to be taken with caution for people with serious liver problems).
  • Rosemary or centella asiatica to improve the circulation of our limbs (do not take rosemary if you have hypertension).
  • A plant to improve microcirculation,  gingko biloba.
  • To regulate intestinal function : flax seeds.

We can add to this infusion the juice of half a lemon and a little stevia or honey to sweeten it.

Cold water

Cold water is the most immediate remedy for circulation problems, but it must be applied correctly.

  1. When you’re not cold, wet your legs with cold water. We can do it in the shower, in the bathtub, in a swimming pool, at sea, with a hose, etc.
  2. Stay like that for a few minutes, moving if possible.
  3. Then dry your legs to warm them up and achieve a temperature contrast, which is really the most beneficial.
  4. If this is not enough to warm you up, you can do exercises or massage.

A moisturizer accompanied by a massage

To further improve the blood flow in our legs, we need to massage them at least once a day with a specific product. If possible natural, with ingredients that are not harmful to our health.

We can choose a gel or moisturizer or prepare our own oil by mixing an almond vegetable oil with a few drops of one of the following essential oils:

  • Rosemary
  • Witch Hazel
  • Centella asiatica
  • Vine
  • Indian brown

The legs should be massaged in circles, always upwards, towards the heart. Finally, you have to perform upward movements with a clenched fist.

The inverted posture

Each night before going to bed, lie down on the floor, in bed, or on a sofa and put your legs in the air. If possible with the buttocks against the wall and the legs completely vertical, at right angles to our body.

Stay in this position for 15 to 30 minutes, unless your legs fall asleep first.

This simple exercise, similar to some positions in yoga and other body therapy, is very effective and relaxing if we do it every day.
