Shrimp Taco Recipe with Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

  • Shrimps (500 g)
  • 8 wheat tortillas
  • 1 small onion, cut into julienne
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil (45 ml)
  • 2 raw tomatoes, crushed without skin
  • Salt and pepper according to your taste
  • Oregano and chopped chives

How to prepare shrimp tacos?

Preparation method

  • Start by heating a pan with olive oil over medium heat and add the chopped onion and garlic.
  • When the onion is sufficiently cooked, add the crushed tomato without skin and the shrimp, salt and pepper and cook over medium-low heat for about 20 minutes.
  • Then taste the sauce, adjust the salt and add any spices you deem appropriate.
  • Cook the wheat tortillas in a skillet, turning them constantly, 20 seconds per side.
  • Finally, fill them with the tomato sauce and the shrimp.

Breaded shrimp tacos recipe

This recipe goes particularly well with homemade mayonnaise or aioli, although if you want a lighter sauce, you can use 0% cottage cheese seasoned with garlic powder and chives.

Ingredients

  • 1 jar of cream cheese (220 gr)
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1/2 green pepper
  • 1 red onion
  • Salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil (30 ml)
  • Cleaned and peeled shrimps (400 gr)
  • 8 corn tortillas
  • Sunflower oil for frying
  • 1 egg
  • Flour
  • Breadcrumbs

Preparation method

  • First, peel and cut the onion into julienne and add it, along with the prawns and the pepper, to a pan previously greased with extra virgin olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Next, prepare the tacos, spreading cream cheese on each tortilla and adding a portion of shrimp with the sautéed vegetables.
  • To make the breadcrumbs, pass each piece in the flour, the beaten egg and the breadcrumbs.
  • Then, let sit in the refrigerator for half an hour to prevent the tacos from opening during cooking.
  • Put a lot of sunflower oil in a pan and when it is hot enough, add the tacos, one at a time, until golden brown.
  • When you take them off the heat, put them on a plate with paper towels to remove excess fat. Your shrimp tacos are now ready!

Guacamole shrimp tacos

This recipe can very well be accompanied by a mustard and honey sauce. You can also opt for an accompaniment based on sautéed seasonal vegetables.

Ingredients

  • Clean shrimps (400 gr)
  • 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil (60 ml)
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • Iceberg lettuce previously washed and cut (200 gr)
  • Salt and pepper according to your taste
  • 10 corn tortillas

For the guacamole sauce

  • 1/4 purple onion
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Salt and pepper according to your taste
  • Garlic powder

Serve your shrimp tacos with guacamole

Preparation method

  • First of all, to prepare guacamole, you have to peel and remove the core of the avocado.
  • Using a mortar, crush it until you get a homogeneous paste.
  • Peel the onion, chop it very finely and add it to the mortar.
  • Add the lemon juice, garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste.
  • Taste, adjust the salt if necessary and set it aside.
  • Then, to prepare the garnish, peel and cut a clove of garlic. Add it to a pan with hot olive oil and cook for a few minutes until golden brown.
  • Add the cleaned shrimp and cook them until ready.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and add the iceberg lettuce cut and washed previously.
  • To assemble the tacos, take a corn tortilla and spread the guacamole over the entire base, stuff with the shrimp and lettuce and shape everything.
  • The shrimp and guacamole tacos are ready.
